Current efforts in cyber protection focus on current threats and known vulnerabilities. What challenges will the future of cyber security bring? Predicting the future is a difficult task, but megatrends and a view of current research projects can point us in the right direction. This talk will look at the potential for enhancing end point and SCDA security, the threat and possibilities of quantum computing, algorithms, and encryption and then explore different facets of AI, such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks and expert systems. Finally, we will look at the underlying technology driving cryptocurrencies and examine the role blockchain will play in protection of future systems. The goals will be to start thinking now how to design cyber protection into our systems to protect against a future threat.
